And the beat goes on, as the project changes hands yet again... although maybe in Forest Whitaker's hands (as producer) - who seems to be at the beginning of a bit of a roll (after the huge success of Fruitvale at Sundance this year - a film he produced) - it'll finally become a reality.

Sergio could probably speak more authoritatively about Vanessa del Rio than I could, so I'll let him fill in any holes (pun intended; or is it porn intended) left in my summary. But in an era when the lines between pornography and mainstream celebrity are blurred, with sex tapes becoming launching pads for lucrative careers in the entertainment industry, porn icons of old like Vanessa del Rio would probably fare very well in this century. She was huge (in more ways than one) in the 1970s and early 1980s, appearing in well over 100 porn flicks (softcore and hardcore) including Rear Busters, Afro Erotica, and many more.

”The humans knew that one day the aliens would come back [...] And they know that the only way you can really travel in space is through wormholes. So for the aliens, it could take two or three weeks, but for us that’s 20 or 25 years [...] It’s a changed world. It’s like parallel history. [Humans] have harnessed all this alien technology. We don’t know how to duplicate it because it’s organically-grown technology, but we know how to take an antigravity device and put it in a human airplane [...] It’s still some of the same characters, but also new younger characters; it’s a little bit like the sons take over [...] The first one ends on a little success, but only enough to give the humans hope. And then in the second one they free themselves again [from the aliens].”

Waaaay back in 2008, before S&A was born, some of you might remember the announcement (I posted it on my old personal blog, The Obenson Report) that Halle Berry had signed up to star in a project called Who Is Doris Payne, a Eunetta Boone-scripted, fact-based film about the international jewel thief, whose career spanned 6 decades, and who, by the way, happens to be black and a woman!
