The 2012 Sundance documentary Under African Skies, Joe Berlinger's Paul Simon/Graceland project, which follows all sides of the complex story behind the artistic, political and commercial divide of Simon's historic album, is getting a limited theatrical release, opening next week, May 11th, at the Los Angeles Laemmle Royal Theater.

Produced by Steven Markovitz (he also produced Viva Riva!), and directed by Eddie Edwards, Rollaball is a feature-length documentary about Ghana’s skate soccer team, the Rolling Rockets, who play a skateboard-inspired version of soccer adapted to suit their disability.

A doc we've been following, titled Usain Bolt: The Fastest Man Alive, the two-part 2-hour long documentary (first part is called The Fatest, second is called The Legend) centers on the track phenom whose name is in the title.

I'm expecting a full press release on this sooner than later, but in the meantime, lifted directly from the American Black Film Festival's website, here's the lineup for the festival's 2012 narrative and documentary feature film selections; you'll notice several familiar titles covered previously on S&A, like Better Mus' Come, Elza (photo above), The Last Fall, LUV, Ties That Bind, The Undershepherd, and Soul Food Junkies (which I noted is one of the 2012 titles we're excited about here on S&A).
