Cinedigm and New Video To Distribute Horror Flick "Citadel" in The U.S. (In Theaters This Fall)

Winner of the Midnighters Award at this year's SXSW Film Festival, and a film we've profiled several times before due to the supporting turn of Brit actress Wunmi Mosaku (I am slave), the horror film Citadel will be distributed by Cinedigm Entertainment Group and New Video. Cinedigm will handle its theatrical release starting this fall, and New Video will manage the on-demand, digital and DVD/Blu-ray in the beginning of 2013.

Michael K. Williams has signed on to star as Ol' Dirty Bastard, but not in a biopic on the late rapper's life (one has long been rumored to be coming); rather as a character in some other person's story.

Scheduled to be released on home video just before the big screen Battleship will open in theaters... Mario Van Peebles and Carl "Action Jackson" Weathers star in what is essentially a rip-off of the big screen Battleship movie, titled American Battelship.

Previously profiled on S&A, it made its world premiere in the Panorama Documentary section at the Berlin Film Festival in February, and now Dagmar Shultz's Audre Lorde - The Berlin Years 1984 to 1992 - an untold chapt at theIt was announced today ther (the Berlin years) of the late writer, poet and activist, Caribbean child of immigrants from Grenada, who died rather young at 58 years old in 1992 - is scheduled to make its theatrical premiere next week Monday, March 26th, at 7:30 courtesy of Third World Newsreel, who acquired the 84-minute film and will premiere it at The Brecht Forum in New York City; no word on where it'll play after that.

Certainly no stranger to filmmaking, Dr. Dre, via his relatively young Crucial Films production company (launched in 2007), has stepped in to produce a horror/thriller titled Thaw, from a script penned by Vik Weet, based on an original idea by Dre's production company partner Daniel Schnider.
