Dual Coast Screening of Van Peebles' "We The Party" in L.A. & Boston Tomorrow Night + Full Synopsis

We haven't mentioned this project in a while since we posted the trailer and first synopsis, besides the fact that it's screening at the Pan African Film Festival this weekend. Well now, Mario Van Peebles' We The Party will also screen simultaneously on the east coast in Boston at the Roxbury International film festival. Although different time zones, both will screen tomorrow 2/19 at 7pm.

IFC Films has acquired North American rights to the Sundance indie dramedy titled Predisposed, which Tracy Morgan stars in, along with Melissa Leo, Jesse Eisenberg, Tanya Wright, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

A little late getting this out but it appears the great iconic actor and Chicago native Dick Anthony Williams passed away on Wednesday (Feb. 15th) at the age of 73.

Curious about this documentary titled 18 IUS SOLI by Afro-Italian filmmaker Fred Kuwornu (above with Spike Lee) which, as the Afro-Europe blog notes, "examines the law that denies citizenship to young people born in Italy of immigrant parents, because they have no Italian blood."

No surprise here... I've been expecting this, since I think we all heard the rumors that a sequel/prequel to that 2007 blockbuster (almost $600 million worldwide gross) was coming.

Maybe it's the combo classical music and quiet, impressionistic images, but I was totally immersed in this trailer for award-winning Hatian indie director Guetty Felin’s feature documentary film Broken Stones, which will screen at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in NYC, presented by the African Film Festival Inc, as its annual Black History Month film screening, this year in honor of the two-year anniversary of the earthquake in Haiti.

We've already told you that it's coming... Lionsgate and Tyler Perry are broadening their already mutually profitable relationship by launching a cable TV channel that was tentatively called Tyler TV. when it was first announced last summer, but in the below clip featuring the man himself speaking with Jay Leno, he's asked what the new network is going to called and he says he's thinking of calling it TylerVision.
