Film Not Out Yet But Soundtrack For 'Kirikou And The Men And Women' Now Available

As announced a year or so ago, the pint-sized Senegalese hero Kirikou is returning for yet another animated adventure titled Kirikou et les hommes et les femmes (Kirikou And The Men And Women) - this, however, will be the first film in the franchise to be produced in stereoscopic 3D, a format French director Michel Ocelot used for the first time on Tales of the Night (2011).

It's been about a year since we last wrote about this upcoming stage musical (aimed for Broadway), courtesy of Tony Award winner, Bill T. Jones; but we've definitely been keeping up with its progress. After all, it's not everyday that Super Fly is adapted for the stage as a musical; and we've also living in a time when Hollywood adaptations of successful stage musicals are so uncommon - even those that are based on original films (see 2009's Nine, which was based on the stage musical of the same name, which itself was based on Federico Fellini's master film work, 8/12).

It was about a year ago when Vin Diesel told us that we should expect to see him in at least 1 more (if not 2) Fast & Furious movies, 1 more xXx flick, and 1 (maybe 2) more Riddick pictures.

Well, D-day is fast approaching. Alex Cross opens next week Friday. And, to some surprise, it'll be screened for the press before it opens - a rare occurence for a movie starring Tyler Perry; although this one he didn't write or direct.

It didn't set the box office on fire, but I know it has its defenders; so for those of you who are, you'll be happy to know that the Sparkle remake, which came out this past August, is coming out on standard and blu-ray DVD, through Sony Home Entertainment, on Nov. 30th.
