Congrats to Ugandan Donald Mugisha whose feature film project, The Boda Boda Thieves, won the 10,000 Euro VFF Highlight Pitch Award at the the 10th edition of the Berlinale Talent Campus last month.

Last I wrote about this project a couple of weeks ago, Oprah Winfrey was said to be eyeing a role in director Lee Daniels' The Butler, to be produced by Laura Ziskin (Pretty Woman, As Good As It Gets, Spider-Man 1, 2 & 3) - the drama based on Eugene Allen, an African American who worked as a butler in the White House for over 34 years, serving 8 presidents from 1952 to 1986.

Zoe Saldana is currently in talks to star with Dark Knight's Christian Bale in the drama Out of the Furnace, written and directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart). Out of the Furnace, a "gritty throwback to 1970s movies" according to Variety, and based on Brad Ingelsby's script The Low Dweller, revolves around an ex-con, played by Bale, who is determined to avenge the death of his younger brother once he's released from prison.
