"Who Has A Black Best Friend?" The CW's 'L.A. Complex' Posed A Serious Question In Season 1

There was much to be said about the first season of the CW's L.A. Complex, and its storyline involving characters Kaldrick and Tariq. So much so that I decided to watch Season 1, so I'd be caught up as the second season begins.

Former Executive Vice President of Tyler Perry Studios, Roger Bobb, who left the company earlier last year to start his own film production company called Bobcat Films, is making his feature film directorial debut with a project titled Raising Izzie - a film that's based on the grand-prize winning script of the 1st annual GMC Faith & Family Screenplay Competition last year, and that made its world premiere as the closing night film at the 2012 American Black Film Festival last month, ahead of its TV premiere on the GMC (Gospel Music Channel) this month.

Ever since Tambay first told us about South African/Nigerian drama series Jacob's Cross, a little over a year ago, I've been paying close attention to South African television. This past April, the Mzansi Magic channel introduced a new drama series to its viewers called Mshika-shika.

Relative newcomer Daniele Watts has joined the cast of Showtime’s Weeds for its final season, as Angela Mullen, described as quirky, alluring and mischievous, and love interest for Shane Botwin (Alexander Gould), whom he meets at the academy. Watt’s first episode aired July 8 with seven more to come.

New York, NY (July 17, 2012)-- Cedric Stewart (Tyler Perry's 'For Better or Worse') has been added to the cast of Alan Ball's new drama series 'Banshee.' The highly anticipated new series (currently filming) is slated to premiere in January 2013 and will feature such actors as Ben Cross (Star Trek), Antony Starr (Wish You Were Here) and Ivana Milicevic (Casino Royale).

Gaius Charles (Friday Night Lights alum) has joined the cast of Shonda Rhimes' long-running medical drama series Grey's Anatomy, although details on his role aren't available yet, as they are reportedly being "worked out," says TVLine, adding that he'll likely be playing a young doctor at Seattle Grace, which saw 2 major staff losses recently.
