After graduating from the New York Film Academy last year, I figured he'd be prepping to shoot his feature film debut by now, instead of hosting a needless series for TruTV.

Smart move by BET, and I applaud it. Even though we've championed Luther here on S&A, and I know a lot of you folks have already watched the series - both seasons - I'm also aware that there's still a large percentage of America (specifically black America) who have yet to watch a single episode, and probably don't even know that the series exists, which is unfortunate.

How this slipped past us, I have no idea. But along with all the new syndicated talk shows premiering this fall, from folks like Katie Couric, Jeff Probst, Ricke Lake (WHAT AGAIN?), Marie Osmond and, of course, the ladies' favorite Steve Harvey (which is already getting a major PR push from NBC Universal who is producing his show), there's another one set to make its premiere this September.

What this means in the larger scheme of things remains to be seen; I just don't have enough info currently to make any assessments. But it's good news, and certainly great for Pearlena Igbokwe.
