A film I've been dying to see is the animated feature film Chico & Rita which we have written about before several times right here on S & A, and now anyone in the Chicagoland area will have their chance to see it, since it's one of several black-themed films to be shown at this year's Chicago International Film Festival Oct. 6-20.

The other films, which are showing as part of the Black Perspectives, World Cinema and Documentary programming at CIFF are:

All Me: The Life and Times of Winfred Rembert; David is Dying; Destiny of Lesser Animals; The Double Steps; Le Havre; Kinyarwanda; Leave it on the Floor; Undefeated; and a special retrospective screening of Cooley High

To see the complete film schedule list, which was offically announced on Monday, go HERE

And here's the trailer again for Chico & Rita:

I have this on DVD. I'm sure it's good; but whatever you do, don't go to see this after along day, or if you're feeling tired. I tried to watch this one night and gave up after 10 minutes. The beginning is kind of slow.
