China Anne McClain (A.N.T. Farm) has landed a starring role in a new Disney Channel original movie titled How to Build a Better Boy, which is currently shooting in Toronto and is slated for a 2014 premiere on the Disney Channel.
McClain will be joined by Kelli Berglund (Lab Rats) to play the film's 2 leads.
Written by Jason Mayland and directed by Paul Hoen, How to Build a Better Boy follows high school sophomores Gabby (McClain) and Mae (Berglund), described as tech-savvy best friends who devise a plan to create the perfect boyfriend using the technology accessible to them - a computer and a broadband internet connection. What Gabby and Mae don't realize is that the computer they use is set up to generate a robotic super soldier, which they inadvertently activate in the form of Albert (played by Marshall Williams), described as a macho yet sensitive boy.
Joining McClain, Berglund and Williams in the cast are Noah Centineo, Ashley Argota, Matt Shively and Roger Bart.
Robin Schorr and Dan Seligmann are executive producing the TV movie.
