Henry Simmons has joined the growing cast of producer Will Packer's thriller, No Good Deed, which stars Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson, currently already in production in Atlanta, GA.

As previously noted, the story follows a former District Attorney, and mother of 2 young children, who are kidnapped and terrorized by a handsome but mysterious stranger, who she lets into their home to wait for help, after his car runs off the road nearby.

Henson plays the woman; Idris, the mysterious handsome stranger; and the newly cast Simmons will play Henson's husband, a businessman.

I suppose we can assume that he isn't around when this kidnapping happens.

I've got to give it to Will Packer for knowing his audience. It may not even be intentional, but if you consider the last few projects he's produced, Think Like A Man, Takers, and now No Good Deed, I'd say they all have been magnets for an audience that's heavily black and female. Yes, even Takers, an action-oriented heist flick. The starring cast should tell you something :)

Think Like A Man was based on a best-selling book that was already targeted at women, so the film drew an audience that was also heavily female (not that guys didn't see those 2 films as well; we certainly did).

And now we have No Good Deed; yes Idris is a dude that a lot of regular dudes respect, and maybe would even like to be. But put Idris and Henry Simmons in a movie together, and watch all (ok, maybe not all, but many of) the women swoon.

Am I right, or am I right ladies? :)

It's also worth mentioning that this is a story that looks to be centered around the woman protagonist played by Taraji P. Henson; I'm sure Simmons will have some presence as her husband, but I'm going to guess that, in the end, it'll come down to Taraji's character doing whatever she has to do to get herself (and her children) out of the potentially fatal situation she finds herself in, as terrorized hostages to Idris' character.

Of course there could be some twist to all this that we don't know about yet. But I'll stop with all the speculating, and just wait for the movie to come out :)

If you recall my conversation with Will Packer last week, he said it’s a script he's really excited about because it’s wasn’t originally conceived with black leads in mind; it just happens to have a black cast.

Sam Miller (Luther) is directing from a script by Aimee Lagos (96 Minutes).

I won't expect to see this until early next year; or quit3e possibly, later this year.

Watch two stories similar to this in the past two weeks on the old 'Alfred Hitchcock Hour' show. Minus the children and DA concept. Will pass, give me a story that is fresh.

Taraji P. Henson is no Zoe Saldana and 2 Henry Simmons plus an Idris Elba does not make a done deal. At least it's nothing to shout about. Listen, a person errs when they mention the "success" of Takers (it made 60 million) and not mention the real turnstyle spinners, (ie,Matt Dillion, Hayden Christensen, Michael Ealy, T.I., Chris Brown and Zoe). I mean, I give Rainforest Films great props for their advertising campaign (and somebody once was successful selling pet rocks) however Elba, Henson (and what's his name) in a thriller about a former District Attorney, and mother of 2 young children, who are kidnapped and terrorized by a handsome but mysterious stranger, will not tear the house town. I ain't wishimg bad on Will Packer, Idris & the boys, I'm just stating facts. As this stands, I'm feeling a remake of Daddy's Little Girls with a twist. Hey, but that makes sense. It will not be the first time Rainforest bit off Tyler Perry's model of success **eyebrow raised**. But in the end, somebody better get their big hustle hat on or put a clown in front of the theaters to get the attention of passing cars.

"And not mention the real turnstyle spinners, (ie,Matt Dillion, Hayden Christensen, Michael Ealy, T.I., Chris Brown and Zoe)." Your use of the word "real" and the exclusion of Idris from the group implies that, yes, somehow Hayden is a more valuable player. There's no need to twist when the words are right there. Yes, Takers ensemble is a bigger draw than that of No Good Deed, but calling Christiansen a "REAL turnstile spinner" is ridiculous, especially while excluding Idris Elba.

Now slow down Maya. I don't want to trade barbs tonight. I was simply saying Maya Angelou has recently, to a degree, shown signs of "slipping". So yes, I was merely playing with your name. I mean, for some strange reason you read my original post as Hayden Christian vs Idris Elba? So obviously I thought it was you who was trying to be witty or funny or whatever? Consquently I followed your lead. Now, it appears you're still playing a game of Twist Those Words. Certainly you know that I was merely matching key elements in the success of Taken to the leads in the upcoming film in question. So "I" believe the drawing card (Idris & Taraji) are no match for the combined stars in Taken. Furthermore, I believe it's safe to say Taken had a cross-over appeal. And, with the inclusion of a major rap star & Chris Brown, I am sure you see my point? . I don't believe I can say the same for the star attractions in No Good Deed.

Ohhh, I get it: you're pitting one actor against an entire group of others. By that logic, every other actor in The Departed puts more butts in seats than Leonardo DiCaprio & every other actor (including Shaobo Qin) puts more butts in seats than Clooney. Can't speak on Taraji, but I think Idris has a decent following. This movie doesn't sound like a blockbuster, but will probably be a moderate success. I don't even know what the Maya Angelou crack was about, but she's achieved more in one week than you ever will in your lifetime, so I think her everything trumps your weak attempt at wit.

Wait Maya "I'm getting old" Angelou, I believe I said the real turnstyle spinners(seat feelers) equals -->(ie,Matt Dillion, Hayden Christensen, Michael Ealy, T.I., Chris Brown and Zoe). So Yes, I don't know what's in your hand but I have 1 black queen (Zoe) 3 jack of spades (Michael Ealy, T.I., and Chris Brown) and 2 white butts (Dillion & Christensen). So I believe my hand trumps your Elba and "Shug" from Hustle & Flow.

...You really think that Hayden Christiansen puts more butts in seats than Idris Elba? That's interesting.

Am I right, or am I right ladies? :) LOL! I really like the cast and the storyline.

I can't get over 'being held HOSTAGE and terrorized by Idris Elba.' Sounds like a dream I don't want to wake up from. ;-) Must see this PRONTO.
