Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh In 'Hunger Games') Books Roles In 'The Spectacular Now' & 'Runner, Runner'

Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh in The Hunger Gameshas landed roles in 2 new projects.

First, an indie coming-of-age drama titled The Spectacular Now, an adaptation of a novel by Tim Tharp, to be directed by James Ponsoldt (Smashed), and which centers on "a charismatic high school senior who lives only for the moment.

Okeniyi joins a cast that already includes Shailene Woodley, Milles Teller and Brie Larson.

It's not yet known what role he'll play in the film.

And second, a crime drama titled Runner, Runner, which stars Ben Affleck as "businessman caught up in the world of offshore online gaming."

Justin Timberlake co-stars in that project, with Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) directing, and Leonardo DiCaprio producing.

Okeniyi will play a Princeton PhD student.

These are Dayo's first two signings since The Hunger Games.

    I read the script for "Runner Runner" and it's good to know that Dayo will be apart of it. I also remember hearing rumors that Anthony Mackie was attached...
