From the New York Times...

Denzel Washington has donated $2 million to his alma mater, Fordham University, to endow its first professorship in theater with the goal of attracting a well-known actor, director, playwright, designer or other artist to rotate into the position at the school’s Lincoln Center theater program each fall, university officials announced on Tuesday. The Tony Award-winning stage and television actress Phylicia Rashad is the first to hold the endowed chair this fall; she is teaching an advanced acting course called “Creating a Character.” Mr. Washington... has also made a $250,000 gift to endow a scholarship for an undergraduate theater student.

Go Denzel!

    That's very commendable of him.

And I would absolutely love to have Phylicia Rashad as my instructor. I hope those students realize what an honor that is.
