I still haven't watched a single episode of this yet. So little time with a lot to watch, read, listen to etc.

Regardless, despite the fact that little old me doesn't watch the show (although, from what I've read, I'm certainly not the only one not watching the series, which is said to be down in viewership compared to last season, with other relatively young HBO properties attracting audiences in greater numbers), the cable TV network has decided to pick up David Simon's critically-acclaimed drama series Treme for a third season.

Though, if I recall, didn't The Wire go through a similar ratings struggle, yet HBO decided in favor of holding onto quality exclusive content, over ratings numbers...?

I agree with everyone comments Season 1 was downright depressing, but it was still a great drama to watch. However, it did end on a "happy note." Treme is such a great show. The 2nd season is starting off a little slow, but the last episode it seems if things are starting to pick up.

I love Treme. I think it is very great show i have to admit Season 1 was very depressing the characters go through so much but it is such a wonderful show to watch.

Not to mention that the subject matter is factually depressing. Season 1 was a MAJOR downer. I should have sought anti-depressants post hoc. But that in no way negates the great performances within the series (Shout out to Khandi Alexander, Clarke Peters, Wendell Pierce and John Goodman!).

Treme is great, saw all of Season 1, episode structures are very indie/foreign - not much happening at first, people hanging out, then explosive things happen - a drama with a laid back feel - maybe it captures a certain New Orleans feel (wouldn't know, have not been there). Looking forward to catching up w/ Treme Season 2 & 3. Also, great, great music in each episode.
