Dee Rees' "Pariah" Picks Up GLAAD Media Award

Over the weekend, at a ceremony held in New York City, writer/director Dee Rees' dramatic debut, Pariah, was presented with the GLAAD Media Award for Oustanding Film – Limited Release.

So, if you haven't heard already, Spike Lee's Red Hook Summer practically caused shock waves with its debut at Sundance yesterday.  Critics seemed evenly split on whether or not it's a good film.  A word that seems to pop up consistently...polarizing.  Hmmm...we'll just have to wait for Tambay's colorful review.  Until then, check out this conversation he had, along with Dee Rees, with David Carron Sunday afternoon.

It's only a few weeks away before this year's Sundance Film Festival kicks off and it's just been announced actress Parker Posey will be hosting this year's awards ceremony on January 28.  Jury members were also revealed and Anthony Mackie along with director Dee Rees made the list among others.
