Earlier this week, I attended a press screening of the recut version of Spike Lee's much-discussed and debated Red Hook Summer; and even though I saw it at the Sundance Film Festival in January, and reviewed it soon after, I plan to write a new review of the film, based on the new edit I saw this week.

New Yorkers will get to see it before everybody else when it opens on August 10th in 4 theaters in the city - Landmark Sunshine, AMC Empire 25, AMC Magic Johnson Harlem 9, and BAM Rose Cinemas.
