Donald Faison is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of the sequel to 2010's Kick-Ass, to play a character named Doctor Gravity.

Who is Doctor Gravity? According to the Kick-Ass wiki:

Doctor Gravity is a superhero inspired by Kick-Ass. Doctor Gravity is an English major who highlights as a superhero by night, working with Kick-Ass and Justice Forever. However, to the world at large he is a physics professor at Columbia who built a baseball bat-like pole called the "Gravity Pole" which can make something twenty times its actual weight. If he flips it around it allows him to float. In actuality though it is a baseball bat covered in tin foil and he came up with his backstory to make a statement about who he wants to be.

And, oh yeah, he's black, as you can see in the image above.

If cast, Faison will join returning stars Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicolas Cage. John Leguizamo is another new addition.

Principal photography starts in in September, in Toronto and London, under Jeff Wadlow's direction. Matthew Vaughn, who directed the 2010 original, is serving as producer on the sequel.

Faison currently stars in The Exes, on TVLand.

@Akimbo - I happen to like "The Exes". I agree with you that he is great, but he should be, he's been in the business for years. If he's in the sequel to Kick-Ass I think it's great, we don't have ANY black superhero's to root for (except for Hancock and he was too flawed for my taste, but I love Will Smith) so I'm sure this will be worth seeing. I didn't think the first Kick-Ass was a box office success (I loved it, but I didn't think they were gonna do a sequel to it) so i'm happy/surprised that a sequel is being done. Congratulation Don, you deserve it.

    Will this be a comedy?

Kick-Ass started out great as a concept, but when the little girl watched her father burn to death, I mentally checked out of the movie. It was a horrific scene.

Man please, ain't nobody care how far you can count and you're welcome LMAO!

Womp. Three sentences. One in response to you and the rest on the content of the article. But thanks, I AM a smartass!

Calm down, no need for a paragraph. A simple sentence would have worked smartarse.

Well his name certainly isn't Kickass, so we know it's not the lead. I think this could be a great look for Donald; the first Kickass was awesome and I've always thought he was better than the majority of films he does. He's damn sure better than The Exes, everyone on that show (and TVLand in general) is.
