Dorian Missick has joined the cast of TNT’s cop drama Southland in a recurring role as "Ruben Robinson," new partner to Detective Lydia Adams (played by Regina King).

The series begins its 4th season on January 17, 2012, which will mark Missick's debut.

Despite the show being in its 4th season, as well as the fact that the lovely Regina King is one of its starring cast members, I unfortunately haven't seen a single episode of Southland (too much to watch, too little time), but it's on my list of shows to catch up on.

Existing fans can chime in with their thoughts on the series, as well as Missick's addition and pairing up with King.

Dorian was most recently seen on the small screen in NBC's short-lived superhero series The Cape, playing crooked police detective Marty Voyt; he also appeared in Qasim Basir's critically-acclaimed drama Mooz-lum.

And...what an embarrassing typo! Of course I meant Missick in my first sentence, sorry Dorian. (hangs head in shame) I guess I'll go to sleep now, lol.

Later than usual but this pleases me! I really like Dorian Misdick, I've enjoyed him in every role I've seen him in. I'm also a Southland fan, it will be interesting to see the dynamic between King's character and Missick's. Hopefully, this will be her final partner no matter what happens.

This is my hands-down favorite show on television; it's so well written and the acting is pitch-perfect. As a native Angeleno, I also think it perfectly captures the tone of the city in the way that Law & Order: LA never did (though I had had high hopes). I'm not familiar with Dorian at all but there hasn't been a casting misstep yet. Can't wait.

Way to go Dorian! Now if some of these Negroes would actually watch it, maybe it'll stay on tv.
