Found this piece of poster art (above and below), as well as a full synopsis on QED International's webpage for the film - the production company behind the Tyler Perry's Alex Cross franchise.

The synopsis reads: "Crusading Detective/Psychologist ALEX CROSS (Tyler Perry) meets his match against the psychotic, mob hit man, MICHAEL SULLIVAN aka THE BUTCHER. As Cross investigates the hit man's gruesome murders, Sullivan decides to send him a deadly message by murdering his wife in cold blood. Now enraged, Cross vows to hunt down the killer if it's the last thing he does. However, Sullivan is a serial killing mastermind and continues to evade Cross while pushing him to an ethical breaking point as a cop and father. As Cross closes in on the killer, he discovers evidence that points to the unimaginable--a revelation that could change everything. With unstoppable action, and unforeseeable twists, this suspenseful action thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat.'

The film shoots this August and will be out in 2012.

Tyler Perry has a built in audience it is obvious the studio believes in him. I think the haters should WAIT until the movie is released prior to criticizing the film. Tyler Perry has a huge fan base that might support this film.

As much as I would love for this to be a good movie. There are so many things betting against it. Tyler Perry has yet to proven he can carry a movie by himself in the lead. The rest cast have had that opportunity and proven it well. Another thing the Action thriller Genre has been it hit/miss for the last decade. Lot them have been filled with tons technojargin and character development and storytelling has been left at waist side.

    What a triumvirate.

    James (Ghostwritten) Patterson
    Rob (Bland) Cohen
    Tyler (Multi-hyphenate talent suck) Perry

The level of mediocrity here is... stunning

I'll admit, it's a well-made poster (the Confucius quote alone sells the movie's potential, as revenge tales are always popular). But I believe that's the last time I'll use "well-made" with respect to anything having to do with this, Tyler Perry's attempt to be greater than the coon of his parts.

Not excited, per se, but somewhat interested. I'm with Monique, the poster is pretty cool.
