We sure have been talking a lot about Mariette Monpierre's debut feature film Elza for a while. But we wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't worth it.

In fact last week I posted an interview with Ms. Monpierre (that you can read HERE) and in it she reveals that for her Elza is more than just a movie. It's an intensely personal statement by her which was inspired by events in her past. It shows in the film too. There's a sensitivity and as well as passon in her film that's quite evident throughout. In other words, it's a film definitely worth seeing. And being shot totally on location in Guadelope of course it's simply gorgeous to look at.

And if you don't believe me just read what Vanessa Martinez said about the film in her review for S & A HERE

And now after going through the film festival curcuit the film will finally make its U.S. theatrical preimere in New York on Friday November 30th as one of the first films to open the brand new  Harlem MIST Cinemas located at 46 West 116th St

The theater was especially created to showcase new independent black and Latino cinema from around the world. (Lucky New Yorkers!)

The film will also have a special premiere on Thursday Nov. 29 and the event will be open to the public. For more info for that and the Harlem MIST Cinemas go HERE

Once again here's the trailer:

Is this screening information from the producers or the theater? The theater already postponed its events for this month & I can't believe that they'll be presenting anything until I see it happen. Who knows what to believe about that place anymore?

From the producers. The original opening this month had been delayed because the theater wasn't ready yet. They assured us that it will be ready for sure on Nov. 30th
