Some more TV pilot casting news...

He already has a recurring role on CBS' A Gifted Man; now Eriq La Salle will be joining the cast of another new CBS series - a drama pilot called Widow Detective

The former ER star has landed a possible recurring role in the drama pilot from CSI producer Carol Mendelsohn, which "revolves around Denny, a decorated police officer (John Corbett) who becomes a surrogate husband, lover and father to families of three partners lost in the line of duty."

La Salle will play Lt. Lutrell, a good friend of Denny's who came up through the ranks with him. Of course... BBF duties abound for black actors in Hollywood.

Second... Friends With Benefits actor Andre Holland has joined the cast of NBC’s White House comedy pilot 1600 Penn, which revolves around "a dysfunctional first family whose out-of-control oldest son (Josh Gad) returns home and becomes not only its biggest liability but also the glue holding everyone together."

Holland will play White House Press Secretary Marshall MalloyBrittany Snow, and Bill Pullman (who'll play the president) also star in a pilot penned by former Barack Obama speechwriter Jonathan Lovett.
