Lennie James will join Jean-Claude Van Damme, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Josh Henderson to star in Keith Parmer's actioner Swelter, which centers on a gang that steals over $100 million from the Luxor Casino in Las Vegas. 4 of the five gang members are captured and jailed, and 10 years later, they blast their way out of a maximum security prison, and hunt down the 5th former accomplice that wasn't caught, to retrieve the remaining $10 million in cash that they stole.
The film is currently being shopped to distributors by The Exchange at the European Film Market, happening concurrently with the Berlin Internationa Film Festival.
With Eleonore Dailly producing, shooting is set to begin at the end of this month.
Up next for Lennie James, he's rumored to be making a return appearance on AMC's The Walking Dead towards the latter half of this season; and look for him in the Ernest Dickerson-directed pilot episode of a new crime drama series, also on AMC, titled Low Winter Sun, which co-stars Mark Strong, and Erika Alexander.
