A huge part of Dallas Austin's identity is that he is a proud black man. Evan is half-white, way too light-skinned, and I've never ever heard him admit to being a black person. Also, Austin's family has not at all been consulted on the script and I heard they're giving Evan a charcoal makeover to make him look more like the guy. THIS IS SO DISRESPECTFUL, I AM OUTRAGED BY THIS BIRACIAL BITCH STEALING ROLES THAT COULD GO TO PHARRELL, SOME RAPPER, MICHAEL B JORDAN, OR ADEPERO ODUYE! RIOT! BOYCOTT! I WILL NOT BE PAYING MY CABLE BILL THE MONTH THIS MOVIE COMES OUT. REAL BLACK MEN JUST CAN'T CATCH A BREAK.

...because Dallas Austin is a musically gifted, civil rights icon JUST LIKE Nina Simone.

    Try again.

If pointing out the obvious hypocrisy in the lack out outrage here is trolling/gas lighting/TMZish, cool. Evan is way lighter than Dallas & biracial which was played as a big fucking deal when it comes to Zoe Saldana and Nina Simone, but now doesn't seem to matter. Such bullshit.

    @ aw hell no--this isn't tmz.com

No, you're not trolling. Actually what you're doing is much more sinister...gas lighting.

  • Aw Hell No | March 8, 2013 9:52 PM

Not trolling, pointing out hypocrisy. And accurately.

  • getthesenets | March 8, 2013 8:20 PM

bad job at trolling or being sarcastic or whatever...

and besides Dallas Austin IS half white.........and by white I mean cocaine

the Leprechaun character from Lucky Charms cereal should play Dallas.....he got caught with a lot of drugs in one of those countries where you get a life sentence for that, luckily for him , one of his powerful friends got elected officials to get him out...

Why did they even hold auditions? I feel bad for the tons of actors that went out and wasted their time going into the room to audition so that the director and producers just ended up going with name actors. What a crock and a load. SMDH.

Evan is a really solid actor. He also looks like he could be a much younger, much more sober version of Dallas. I can see him as Dallas.
