Sexy star, Naturi Naughton of NBC's new show The Playboy Club teases us with some insight into her character, Bunny Brenda! Check out part one of my chat with her after the jump!

Cruising down the busied Chicago streets, Naturi took time out of her hurried schedule to speak with Shadow and Act about her role as Bunny Brenda on the new NBC show, The Playboy Club. Miss Naughton was very excited about the character and of stepping into the retro world of 1960's Chicago in Hugh Hefner's first exclusive gentleman's club. In part one of our chat, she candidly discussed the issue of black actresses portraying "sexy" or provocative roles and how that does and does not factor into the type of parts she chooses to play. We also get inside Naturi's mind as she explains (without spoiling the storyline) the many interesting facets of her character on the show.

Listen to part one below:

For part two of our talk, Naturi digs deep, revealing more about what she considers her breakthrough acting role in the film Notorious. She speaks on the lil' Kim controversy surrounding the movie as well as her personal thoughts and experiences on being a darker woman of color navigating her way through the entertainment industry. You may be surprised by what you learn, I sure was...the conclusion of our talk will air during the premiere of the Shadow and Act Livecast, Wednesday, September 21 at 8pm EDT . So, tune in, take a seat and relax, Bunny Brenda is delighted to serve you!

NBC's The Playboy Club premieres tonight at 10/9c. Please check your local listings for the time in your area.

Nice Interview Monique. Looking forward to part 2. I wish Naturi all the best.

I saw the episode last night. Naturi didn't have a plot line surrounding her, but she did get more than average face time. She was in about 5 scenes, which is good, and there are seedlings for character development. It was a bit odd to notice how unusually short she is compared to the other girls. Aside from that she did great.

Good interview, Monique. Naturi seems like a very smart and ambitious actress...down to earth too. I'm looking forward to watching her on The Playboy Club. She's really the only reason I'm tuning in so here's to hoping she gets some good, substantive material.

    I like Naturi -

The Playboy Club probably would have benefitted to airing on cable, but I cannot comment on that until I have seen it.

I hope Naturi can continue to get roles out of the norm that she can utilize all of her talents.

I am looking forward to seeing her performance tonight (of course it would have to air next to a playoff game, but I'll tune in) especially it being a period piece.

Good to see that she has integrity in choosing roles.

    Good interview Monique
