First Film Stills of Mario Van Peebles and Carl Weathers in "Battleship" Rip-Off "American Battleship"

We last talked about American Battleship when Tambay announced a few weeks ago that the Mario Van Peebles and Carl Weathers starrer was scheduled to be released on home video, which by the way hits DVD/VOD on May 15th, just before the other Universal Studios' big-budgeted, live action adaptation of Hasbro's naval combat board game Battleship, opens in theaters.

Released by The Asylum Home Entertainment, American Battleship is directed by Thunder Levin (2008's Mutant Vampire Zombies from the Hood).

To recap, the synopsis reads, "When a fleet of mysterious ships wage war against the Earth, only the crew of the USS Iowa, the last American battleship, can prevent global armageddon."
