Fire In Blood

It made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival last month, competing in the World Cinema Documentary category, and now it's heading to theaters, but only in select UK and Irish cinemas at the moment.

The feature documentary is titled Fire In The Blood, from director Dylan Mohan Gray, and is described as an intricate tale of "medicine, monopoly and malice," which follows an improbable group of people who decided to fight back against western governments and pharmaceutical companies that blocked low-cost antiretroviral drugs from reaching AIDS patients in continental Africa, in the late 1990s and early 2000s, causing some 10 million or more unnecessary deaths.

The film screened at Sundance to strong reviews, and will be released theatrically in select UK and Irish cinemas later this month.

Opening cities and dates:

Feb 21st -- Dublin; Feb 22nd -- London (Prince Charles); Feb 25th -- Bath; Brighton; Cambridge; Edinburgh; Exeter; Ipswich; London (Brixton, Greenwich, Hackney, Stratford);  Manchester; Norwich; Oxford; Sheffield; York; Feb 27th -- Aberystwyth March openings: Belfast; Dumfries; Hammersmith; Hereford;.Nottingham and more locations TBA

Unfortunately, no word yet on distribution in any other part of the world.

As I noted in past posts, I'm definitely interested in seeing the full film, and hope I get an opportunity to do so.

Said to be shot on 4 continents, the work of investigative film journalism includes contributions from the likes of Bill ClintonDesmond Tutu, Joseph Stiglitz, and more.

A new release trailer has been cut, and is embedded below:
