Best Man Cast

Well, you've been teased with 2 or 3 short spots thus far. Now here's the first FULL trailer for Malcolm D. Lee's sequel to The Best Man, titled The Best Man Holiday, which sees the return of the stars from the first film, including Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, Harold Perrineau,Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan,Monica Calhoun, Melissa De Sousa and Regina Hall, who are all reprising their roles in a story that is set 15 years after the original.

The story:

When the college friends finally reunite over the Christmas holidays, 15 years after the first film, they will discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be ignited.

You'll recall Morris Chestnut sharing, in an interview 2 weeks ago, that his role in the upcoming sequel pushed him "like no other because the character was so emotionally conflicted. His emotions were high at some points but, for most points, they were very low. So I had to be in the headspace that I don’t like to go into often. That was extremely, extremely challenging. Probably, the most challenging to this day."

He went on to add that audiences are in for an emotional roller-coaster ride, and that this Best Man sequel is better than the first film. We'll find out in about 4 months.

Universal Pictures has set the release date for the sequel for November 15, 2013.

Check out the new full trailer below, and reacquaint yourselves with the entire posse. Based on all the excitement over it, I'd guess that this is going to be a box office hit - certainly one of this year's highest grossing black films:

Upscale Shit. I live. Don't mind sergio and the other "bottom of the barrel scrapers" that permeate this blog. They are not at fault. They are situated in lack.

Ugh why did Melissa De Sousa bleach her skin..she better stop before she end up looking like Tamar Braxton

I hope this film exceeds expectations. I really enjoyed the first one, so I'm hoping this one will be a success. Anything with little to no violence starring Black Folk, I'm all for it. #blackfilm

And isn't Taye Diggs also in Baggage Claim too? How come they keep putting him in these black rom-coms when he's gone on record saying that he doesn't even like black women?

  • ScriptTease | July 10, 2013 8:39 PM

You're wrong for that... however, I watch em' both. ;)

  • sergio | July 10, 2013 7:37 PM

However if there's an "adult" film version of The Best Man I'll definitely watch that
