Back in January of this year, Tambay announced Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's attachment to the heist flick Empire State. The film, which also stars Liam Hemsworth, Emma Roberts, Nikki Reed and Michael Angarano, is based on true events that took place in 1982.

The unbelievably busy Johnson plays "Ransone," an NYPD officer who tries to prevent a car depository robbery orchestrated by Liam Hemsworth's character and his childhood friend.

Empire State is written by Adam Mazer (Breach, HBO’s You Don’t Know Jack) and directed by Dito Montiel (Fighting, The Son Of No One).

The film is set to hit theaters June 10, 2013.
