Red Hook

And with the announcements earlier today from Sundance that both films will make their world premieres at the festival next month, come some publicity materials.

No trailers or clips for each film yet, but these still images will have to do in the meantime.

The image above is from Spike Lee's Red Hook Summer, and in it are stars of the film, Toni Lysaith, Clarke Peters and Jules Brown.

The film's official synopsis reads:

A young Atlanta boy spends his summer in Brooklyn with his grandfather, who he's never seen before.

And, as for the image below... while we've seen un-official on-set images from 2 Days In New York, which were posted on S&A, the images below are our first official looks at film.

Its synopsis reads:

Marion has broken up with Jack and now lives in New York with their child. A visit from her family, the different cultural background of her new boyfriend, her sister’s ex-boyfriend, and her upcoming photo exhibition make for an explosive mix.

And just in case it's not already clear, Chris Rock plays the new boyfriend with the different cultural background :)

*raises glass* Here's to hoping that 1) it's a drama 2) there is a 3-D black female character and 3) FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SPIKE & JOIE ARE NOT IN IT!

The story synopsis mirrors author-James Mcbride's "The Color of Water..peep it?:)
