And there you have it. That's it folks. Your first look at Vin Diesel in the yet unittled new Riddick film for Universal Pictures which is currently in post-production for release next year.

According to Diesel, on his Facebook page, the film could possibly see a January 2013 release, with a trailer to be released shortly.

The film was written and directed by David Twohy, who made the previous Riddick films, Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick.

Twohy, if you will recall, wrote the orginal screenplay for Alex Cross, which he was supposed to direct with Idris Elba starring; but both of them left the project, Twohy's script was heavily rewritten, and we don't need to go into who took Elba's place do we?

According to imdb.com, the synopsis deals with Riddick "betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet,  fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, he unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction."

WHEW! Riddick has his work cut out for him.

As soon as a trailer pops up, you know we'll post it here

I think its great that he went back to the movie that made us all Vin Diesel fans. All these other movies he's starred in have been a plus. Me&my family has been looking forward to this for some time,I was actually disappointed when it ended with Riddick on the throne as a necromonger.I needed to c were Riddick went from there.I consider Riddick to b a great inspiration in my art career.Looking forward to seeing Vin Diesel take Riddick to new heights.

Fine that he's making money, I guess, but this just looks Riddick-ulous. (see what I did there?)

Wait... why am I just now hearing about? And, has anyone else noticed that Vin Diesel is returning to the franchises that made him a star in the first place? So much for conquering new worlds.
