Here's your first official look at Viola Davis in the upcoming adaptation of Beautiful Creatures, the first of three novels by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl about Ethan, a mortal boy living in the South, and Lena, the girl he loves with enigmatic powers she’s trying to keep hidden.

Viola Davis plays Amarie "Amma" Treadeau, described as, a seer who is like a grandmother to Ethan. She can communicate with her dead family who she calls the Greats.

Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros are both behind the film, with Richard LaGravenese directing.

Also starring are Emma Thompson in dual roles as Sarafine and Mrs Lincoln, and Jeremy Irons as Lena's uncle Macon Ravenwood.

Newcomers Alden Ehrenreich and Alice Englert star as Ethan and Lena.

The film is expected in February 2013.

Great she is working, she is too talented not to be working or sidelined to small project like her counterpart angela basset. It seems her complaining paid off. She is a granny and no nanny anymore.
