It was announced about two months ago that Zoe Saldana would be starring in the upcoming NBC 4-hour miniseries Rosemary's Baby - a remake of Ira Levin's 1967 best-selling suspense novel Rosemary’s Baby.

And now a poster and teaser have surfaced featuring Saldana, who plays none other than the titular character Rosemary, a young wife who moves into a Paris apartment with her husband. Their new apartment has a darkly storied past, and, soon after becoming pregnant, she becomes increasingly suspicious that both her husband and their mysterious neighbors have ulterior motives about the future of her child.

The famous novel was first adapted to the screen in Roman Polanski's 1968 film of the same name, which starred Mia Farrow as the title character.

“Zoe has proven that she is one of our most gifted actresses and we think she has the perfect combination of spirit and gravitas to take on the title role from Ira Levin’s infamous novel,” said Quinn Taylor, Executive Vice President, Movies, Miniseries and International Co-Productions, NBC Entertainment. “With Zoe leading the cast under the direction of Agnieszka Holland, this reimagined event mini-series is off to a great start.”

Acclaimed director Agnieszka Holland, who has been nominated for both an Oscar (Europa, Europa) and an Emmy Award (Treme), directed the project from a script penned by Scott Abbott (Introducing Dorothy Dandridge) and James Wong (American Horror Story).

Production was set in Paris, where the story is set as well.

Zoe Saldana has risen as one of Hollywood's top leading ladies in the past few years since her co-starring turn in the biggest box-office hit of all time Avatar. She recently appeared in the Christian Bale drama Out of the Furnace. Her upcoming projects include Marvel’s Guardians of the GalaxyBlood Ties and in the highly anticipated upcoming Nina Simone biopic as Simone herself. She's also co-starring in Don Cheadle's long-in-development Miles Davis project. Furthermore if you recall, last year, Zoe and sister Cicely Saldana inked a first-look deal (via their production company Saldana Productions) with Lionsgate studios.

This Rosemary's Baby miniseries is just another high-profile project for her to add to her blossoming resume. Other casting announcements are forthcoming.

Take a look at the full poster below, and underneath you'll find a first pic and the short teaser:

I saw the original as a six-year old because my father was too cheap to get a babysitter. I had nightmares for weeks. Just seeing the poster gave me the creeps. I hope it's good, but since I was scarred for like by the original, I won't be watching it. LOL!

Congrats to her. She is always stretching herself and trying new projects. She doesn't always succeed but I admire her drive. She balances her projects between indie and commercial films. It says alot to me about how serious she takes her craft. She's a fine actress. I can't wait till she starts directing more. She worked with Vin Diesal on his tv show about the bouncers and I think she can handle directing a film.
