Here's your first-look above at Dwayne Johnson, who plays a pilot from the Los Angeles Fire Department Air Squadron Rescue in the upcoming adventure/actioneer San Andreas, directed by Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island).
In San Andreas, currently filming, Johnson plays Tom, a rescue-chopper pilot who "makes a dangerous journey across the state in order to rescue his estranged daughter. " In regards to his role, Johnson said on Instagram, "Puttin' in a lot of hard ass work and proud to play my next role... Los Angeles Fire Department Air Squadron Rescue. Shooting starts in 4 weeks. Biggest earthquake of all time hits... SAN ANDREAS. #FirstInLastOut."
San Andreas, penned by Carlton Cuse, Carey Hayes and Chad Hayes, also stars Carla Gugino and Alexandra Daddario.
Johnson is also slated to star in the HBO series Ballers, which centers on the lives of retired athletes living in Miami, and the busy actor/athlete will also be seen in TNT's Wake Up Call (working title), a reality TV series in which he'll lend a helping hand to everyday people who are facing enormous challenges in their lives.
San Andreas is set for a theatrical release in June 5, 2015.
