Here's your first look (photos above and below) at Nia Long in the Showtime comedy series, House Of Lies, which stars Don Cheadle.

Long makes her debut on the series on this Sunday night's episode; she joins the cast in a recurring role, playing Tamara - Galdweather Stern's newest partner-level consultant and rival of Marty's (Don Cheadle) from business school.

Based on the book, House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time by Martin Kihn, the second season of House Of Lies returned to Showtime last Sunday, on January 13th.

Nia Long's debut will air this Sunday, January 20, at 10 pm ET/PT.

I heard she was a front runner for the Olivia Pope role. Glad Nia is getting some work these days.

So are other demographics supposed to get less starring roles. I understand there are a lot of crap shows but that is house money. They gotta get their network up before some rich benefactor can start shelling out money for them in a starring vehicle. White women have to like you too, not just black women. Gays can help close that margin as well. Hell I'm not gay but I am willing to bet that every black woman to ever have her own show has a huge gay audience. How can other black lead actresses increase their gay audience?

Ooooh....Nia would have made a good Olivia Pope too, although now that Kerry has owned the role it is difficult to place someone else in that role in my mind. The sad thing is, there should be TONS of lead dramatic roles for actresses like Nia and Kerry, as opposed to several talented, beautiful actresses fighting for one role that comes along every 15 years (or less). Thank God for Shonda Rhimes.

I had no idea she was joining the cast. Of course I'll have to wait now until the next Freeview....which will probably be this summer. LOL!! Love Nia! Such a beautiful and talented lady.

So excited for her debut! She's always amazing!

I really like the dynamic btw Don, Glynn and Donis (the actor who plays his son.) Can't wait to see how Larenz adds to that.

  • ALM | January 19, 2013 6:00 PM

    Larenz

She looks wonderful. Glad to see a real actor get this role and not another musician-turned-actor.

  • Troy | January 21, 2013 3:43 PM

Did you fucking praise God that somebody else didn't get a job. Fucking clowns. Keep praying on others downfall

  • Marie | January 20, 2013 7:28 PM

And a second amen to that.

  • eboni | January 18, 2013 6:18 PM

    Amen to that.

I watched the Pilot, and I could not get pass the fact that they had to create his son as a Boy/Girl/Shemale /Cross Dressing 10 year old kid.....Kinda Unnecessary.

  • Troy | January 21, 2013 3:42 PM

That makes sense, because people like you watch media for validation of your world view. possibly don't pay attention to news stories you don't agree with. Plus it is not like this boy lost his gay virginity in real life on the show. I'm mean he is no Mario Van Peebles

  • Marie | January 20, 2013 7:31 PM

Agreed, Monique. I'm glad to see a different kind of black kid. Moreover, the young actor gives a terrific performance.

  • Monique a Williams | January 19, 2013 1:07 AM

Why, because that doesn't exist in the real world? Would you prefer an Urkel or a Theo Huxtable? Black people are dynamic and varied.

  • QBN | January 18, 2013 6:02 PM

Yeah, that turned me off to..

  • PK | January 18, 2013 5:47 PMReply

Yeah, I saw her in the teaser for the rest of the season. Can't wait to see Marty play off her character.
