Angela Bassett will indeed be returning for the next season of FX's "American Horror Story," which will be titled "Freak Show," joining returning stars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and Kathy Bates, as well as newcomers to the group, Michael Chiklis and Wes Bentley.
Showrunner Ryan Murphy previously revealed that everyone from last season would be returning for season four in "some capacity," including Gabourey Sidibe and Jamie Brewer.
Set in Jupiter, Florida, in 1950, "Freak Show" finds Lange playing a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the USA. Her group of freak show performers include Bassett along with Bates, Paulson, Peters, and Conroy - all acts whom Lange’s character has rescued, and who will do anything to make sure that their business sticks around.
Specific details on what roles each actor will play, and how they will contribute to the season's overall narrative, are still being kept underwraps (although word on the street is that characters played by Bassett and Bates will continue the feud character played by both actresses started last season).
Season 4 debuts in October. Below you'll find the first of what will likely be several promos, until then.
The hit show received a total of 17 Primetime Emmy nominations this year, including acting nominations for Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, and Frances Conroy.
