First Trailer For Lifetime's 'Trip to Bountiful' Film Adaptation (Cicely Tyson, Vanessa Williams, Blair Underwood, Keke Palmer)

Originally set to premiere this month, in celebration of Black History MonthLifetime moved the debut date for its adaptation of the recent all-black Broadway revival of The Trip to Bountiful, starring Cicely Tyson, Vanessa Williams, Blair Underwood and Keke Palmerto March 8, 2014

The Trip to Bountiful is based on American playwright and screenwriter Horton Foote's Tony nominated play of the same name, which is set during the final years of the Jim Crow South, and follows one woman's quest to reconnect with her past in order to ensure her family's future.

    I'm not a fan of using this music track. It tries too hard to make the piece seem contemporary and as a result the emotional connection is lost. Also, why does the film looked so washed out? Just because it's a period piece doesn't mean it should look dated. Kudos for Lifetime for continuing to feature Black stories. Black is the new Black.
