Here's the first trailer for Michel Gondry's whimsical Parisian romance Mood Indigo, which stars Romain Duris (L'Auberge Espagnole) and Audrey Tautou (Amelie, Dirty Pretty Things) starring as Colin and Chloe, a wealthy couple that endure hardship when she falls ill with the strange ailment of "water lily in the lung."

Much-lauded actor/comedian Omar Sy (The Intouchables) co-stars in the film as Colin's man-servant Nicolas.

And Aissa Maiga also co-stars as a character named Alise - the long-suffering girlfriend of Colin's best friend.

The film is expected in 2013.

Watch the trailer below, which includes the usual Gondry flourishes. It looks like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Science of Sleep (past Gondry films) all rolled into one (underneath, you'll also find several still images from the film):

I love Michel Gondry too much not to see this film. He's definitely one of my biggest inspirations. I don't believe he's made a feature in french before. Aissia Maiga and Audrey Tatou are always beautiful on screen. Romain and Omar seem do solid jobs whenever I catch a film they are in.
