Forest Whitaker Joins Arnold Schwarzenegger In Comeback "The Last Stand" Film

I know, I know. Of course I could have picked a better photo for our pal Forest instead of this one from Battlefield Earth. It's the one film I KNOW he must regret making more than any other film. But it just goes to show you that even the greatest of actors, even Oscar-winning ones like Forest, have a film or two they would rather forget. Actors are just like us. We're human. We all make mistakes.

But having said that, let's get to the issue at hand; Mr. Whitaker has joined the cast of The Last Stand which marks the return to the big screen of the former California governor and recently divorced (and baby daddy) Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In the film, described as a modern day western, the Terminator plays a sheriff in a border town who goes mano-a-mano against an escaped drug cartel leader heading for the Mexican border.

No word about what role Whitaker plays in the Lionsgate film which also stars Luis Guzman and Johnny Knoxville, and which started shooting today with South Korean director Jee-woon Kim (who directed the terrific and insanely entertaining The Good The Bad and The Weird and the perverse serial killer thriller I Saw The Devil) directing.

We don't know how the The Last Stand will turn out, but one thing for sure, considering the director's previous work, it's going to be crazy violent.

I was really disappointed with the cast but at least Forest Whitaker is now in it. I hope Arnold Schwarzenegger will do more dramas from now on.

A better choice of photo would have been more befitting of Mr. Whitaker, I mean come on now, really?? He's paid his dues, at least give him the respect of putting a decent photo up of him! The Great Debaters one would have been nice, hell, even Ghostdog would have been better than that one chosen!

Jee-woon Kim is an amazing director. "A Tale of Two Sisters" is a masterpiece and one of the greatest horror films ever made. Forest never disappoints either.

I don't know. When you've done as much good work as Whitaker AND you have an Oscar, there's got to be a bit of fun notoriety to be able to look back and say you were in one of the worst films -- some argue THE worst film -- of all time. I'm sure he got paid a lot for "Battlefield Earth" too, so I'd think that would add to the fun memories. I could think of other films he might be more embarrassed by.

All good actors make bad films in their career. But how many can say they were in one of the GREAT bad films? Makes for better dinner party conversation than the good films.
