Gabourey Sidibe joins Shailene Woodley, Eva Green, Shiloh Fernandez, and Christopher Meloni in Gregg Araki's next feature, a drama titled White Bird In A Blizzard.

Based on the novel of the same name by Laura Kasischke, the indie drama tells the story of a troubled young woman (played by Woodley) whose life is upended following the mysterious disappearance of her mother.

Katrina Connor, Araki (Kaboom, Mysterious Skin) will produce the feature, with collaborators Pascal Caucheteux and Sebastien Lemercier of Why Not Productions.

Gabourey continues to work consistently (even though the roles she's been cast in, don't put her front and center as her first - Precious); from last year's Tower Heist, to Showtime's The Big C, which was recently renewed for a 4th season, to Seven Psychopaths, which was released last month, and Victoria Mahoney's Yelling To The Sky, which will open in New York on December 14th.
