O.K. I'll admit that I'm jealous. I wish I had some rich and powerful friend who gave me stuff all the time, even my own TV shows just because I'm their friend. I'll bet you wish you had one too. Talk about someone lucking out, that's Gayle.
Anyway, I say all this to report that, after being rumored last week, The New York Times today is reporting that Gayle will join Charlie Rose as new co-hosts for CBS' severely ratings challenged morning show The Early Show sometime early next year. The exact changes will be officially announced by the network next Tuesday.
As the times reported that "neither Rose nor King are proven ratings draws" but somehow CBS believes that the addition of them to the show, along with the program's more "hard news" approach in contrast to The Today Show and Good Morning America, are the tonic that will attract viewers. Really? Raise your hand, any of you out there, who will start watching The Early Show now that Oprah's BBF is on it.
