Director George Tillman's (Men of Honor, Notorious, Faster) independently made project The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, will begin shooting this summer, in July, in New York City, for an 2013 release.

Now currently in pre-production, the long in gestation film project, written by Michael Starrbury, deals with two young kids who are left to fend for themselves in the urban jungle during one summer, when their mother is taken away by authorities.

Jennifer Hudson is still on board to play the role of the mother, but no official word as yet as to who will play the leads of Mister and Pete.

I would love to know who will be playing Mister and Pete. I would love to see an up and coming actor to get the part.

Glad he's going independent. I often felt his films felt compromised.
