The 49th annual Chicago International Film Festival, which runs this year from Oct. 10-24, has released, in the past hour, its “sneak preview" of just a tiny few of the films set to screen at this year’s festival; and two films that we've extensively covered, will be shown at this year’s CIFF.

The 49th annual Chicago International Film Festival, which runs this year from Oct. 10-24, has released, in the past hour, its “sneak preview" of just a tiny few of the films set to screen at  this year’s festival; and two films that we've extensively covered, will be shown at this year’s CIFF.

Mahamat-Saleh Haroun’s Grisgris and George Tillman’s The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete are listed on CIFF’s sneak preview list of films that will be screened at this year’s festival.

And considering that Mister and Pete is already set to open on Oct. 11 nationwide, it seems logical that the film will be the opening night film of this year’s CIFF on Oct. 10th.

What else could it be?

As more films of interest to S & A readers are announced, from now through mid-September, we will be sure to let you know.

Here’s the trailer once more for Grisgris:
