It's not yet known what angle or who's POV they'll assume with this follow-up of sorts, so, like the first film, Game Change, it could very be all about the race run by the Republicans, and not the Democrats; so, like Game Change, Barack Obama's campaign may not at all be the focus.

We'll see; the book has to be written first, and I'm sure bits and pieces of what we can expect will be dropped along the way.

Penguin (the publisher) announced today that the authors of Game Change, Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, are writing a sequel of sorts to that novel, titled Double Down: Game Change 2012, which will detail the most recent presidential election campaign. I think we all know how that one turned out.

And further revealed is that HBO, which of course broadcast Game Change, is going in for seconds, and has optioned the movie rights to Double Down.

It makes sense, given how successful the first film was, taking home 5 Emmy Awards.

Double Down will be published in the Fall of 2013 before it's adapted by HBO, so look for the movie version in 2014.

More details on plot/focus/angle/POV when we have them...
