NBC has ordered 13 episodes of a new stand-alone story arc entitled Heroes Reborn, with all details of storylines and characters being kept under wraps.

The wildly successful original series centered on "the life-changing stories of a series of unrelated ordinary people who discovered they had superhuman abilities. As the saga unfolded, they learned they were part of a grand plan that brought them together to change the world."

The cast included Jimmy Jean-Louis, Jamie Hector, Noah Gray-Cabey, Leonard Roberts, Ntare Mwine, and Tessa Thompson throughout its first four seasons, though with all the details being kept secret for now it's uncertain whether any of those actors will return for the 2015 special. But its likely that this reboot will have a diverse cast, as the original did.

Prior to the miniseries premiere, NBC plans to release a digital series introducing all the new characters and storylines.

I think the show ran its course, but since it IS coming back I wish it luck.

Few shows get a chance at redemption. I'm interested in what they'll do.
