Hey Africa, 'The Steve Harvey Show' Is Coming To You Soon!

Those in the US should know that the show is apparently doing quite well with its target audience; and now it's heading the the Motherland.

5 October 2012 - Endemol, the world’s largest independent production and distribution company, today announced that Electronic Media Network has acquired the first season of The Steve Harvey Show in a deal negotiated by Emma McCaughey and Claire Jago of Endemol Worldwide Distribution.

The first series of more than 200 episodes will air throughout Africa on Electronic Media Network’s Mnet Channel with the acquisition also including a further two seasons of the newly launched US show.

Steve Harvey is known in Africa for his humorous take on various topics and for telling it like it is. This is what adds a little bit of magic in the minds and hearts of our viewers."

Produced by Endemol USA for NBC USA, The Steve Harvey Show is a one-hour daytime show hosted by TV personality, comedian, radio show host and best-selling author, Steve Harvey. Each weekday in his new multi-topic show, Harvey talks to real people with real issues and brings his funny, fresh, insightful and common sense approach to everyday problems.

Drawing from his varied life experiences, Harvey entertains, informs and inspires, covering a vast range of relatable topics such as marriage, dating, finance, parenting, work place issues, friendship and the daily dramas we face throughout our lives, all with his unique comedic spin.

The show’s premier on 4th September 2012 on NBC achieved a 1.5 rating/4 share in households and to date has built from the lead-in average by 22 percent in household rating and the September 2011 time period average by a hefty 45 percent. It is the only new show to improve time periods and lead-in.

In Women 25-54 ratings The Steve Harvey Show has built from the lead-in average by 43% and the September 2011 time period average by a tremendous 69%. With The Steve Harvey Show as its lead-in The Ellen DeGeneres Show had its best premier week ever.

Endemol Worldwide Distribution will launch The Steve Harvey Show at MIPCOM 2012.
