Ice Cube has made a deal to star in and exec produce a new dramatic series titled Eye for An Eye, for the FX cable network.

To be co-produced by Cube's production company Cube Vision and Prospect Park, the series revolves around a paramedic, played by Cube, who "after too many years of leaving the scenes of violent crimes with a victim struggling to live in the back of his ambulance, he snaps and starts going eye for an eye. When his thirst for revenge proves addictive, his personal life spirals out of control as he tries to reconcile it with his newfound life as a vigilante."

The search is currently on to find a writer for the pilot, and, in the meantime, Cube is staying busy on the feature film front with roles in Rampart, the upcoming 21 Jump Street, as well as the Friday reboot for New Line.

Cube is also still producing the TV sit-com version of his film Are We There Yet? which has a 100 episode order from TBS.

It's actually a cool idea for a show. By nature of his occupation and the oath they take, his morality will be on full tilt all the time. Plus you can deal with the consequences of his actions, vs just the blood lust of seeing the bad guys get it. Kinda interested to see this, but since it's just a pitch right now, it'll be ALL in who they get to write it & shoot it.

Inner city Dexter-ish vigilante? Interesting. Fx has great shows like "Sons of Anarchy ". He's also producing a Bow Wow led sitcom. Good for Cube finding and creating TV sucess
