First revealed publicly last October, the Fox Network is bringing the Wayans' In Living Color back to TV as a mid-season replacement, with the original star and creator of the show, Keenen Ivory Wayans, on board as host and executive producer.
According to reports it was Wayans' idea to revive the show, and the plan was for Fox to present two In Living Color half-hour specials to air as part of the network’s 25th anniversary celebration on April 22, with a series option behind them. If the two specials are a ratings success, then the new In Living Color will be picked up as a series next season.
But it looks like this will happen at a later date, since shooting is scheduled to begin in April.
How about the cast?
Announced this afternoon, Kali Hawk, Jennifer Bartels, Jermaine Fowler and Lilrel Howery have all signed on to be part of the new generation/revamped cast of In Living Color.
The only name I'm familiar with is Kali Hawk's (Although sketch comedy isn't something I knew she did). But how about you?
It looks like 2 men and 2 women so far; both men are black; one of the women is white. There may be more coming...

Kali Hawk was funny in the movie Couples Retreat and had a very small part in Bridesmaids. Good for her!

Lil Rel is handlin' his business; in fact, Hannibal Burress often sings his praises.

This show will tank. It's a reboot that does not need to happen. It's 2012, not 1990... The Wayan's family hasn't been funny for years. But looking at Fox's current line-up, I'm not shocked. Fox executives have no idea what they are doing with a scripted series, let alone a variety show. Here's an idea why not give some unknown comics a shot, instead of rehashing 22 year old ideas.

Lil Rel is one of the funniest and most honest comics I know. He represents Chicago very well. I'm glad he was chosen to be apart of the show and look forward to seeing him on the show....

I am especially proud of Lil Rel!! I've been a fan since I saw him on TV One's Who Got Jokes and been following his career in Chicago ever since. He's definitely one of my favorite comedians and even better he's from Chi-town. So I'm confident he'll be hilarious on the show. Check out some of his footage on YouTube.
This is one of my fav jokes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwQidtOZxnI
Never heard of the other folks, but I wish them the best also.

As long as Keenan has a part in the show, I'm excited. I'm also unfamiliar with the cast members. I hope he brings back some of the old crew from time to time. I wonder if there will be new Fly Girls.
