As the debate about "genre" movies centered around black characters continues...
From director Laron Austin, and a screenplay penned by Eddie Singleton & Martin Kelley, comes a feature length indie action/thriller titled blackhats, starring Errol Sadler, Doris Morgado, Ted Huckabee, Neko Parham, Onira Tares, Cheri Christian, Vince Canlas, Samantha Worthen, and Michael Lartey.
Described as a movie about a bounty hunter tracking computer hackers, here's its full synopsis:
"blackhats" is about a reformed, hot-tempered bounty hunter, who finds his new harmonious life as a Fugitive Recovery Agent threatened, when he must track down a group of cyber hackers before they are assassinated by a rival bounty hunter, while also trying to prevent a massive viral attack that could collapse America’s economic foundation.
The film hails from Reel One Entertainment in partnership with Supremacy Films.
It was shot in Atlanta last fall (2012), and is now set for a July 12th, 2013 theatrical debut. No word on what cities exactly yet.
