In what the network is calling "a shocking cliffhanger episode" titled The Bridge, Mike Peterson, the character played by J. August Richards in the very first episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and whom we haven't seen since then, will return to provide "super-soldier" support for Agent Coulson.
That episode airs tonight, Tuesday, December 10. And based on the preview below, the question that begs to be asked is whether Mike Peterson is joining the S.H.I.E.L.D. permanently to become one of the agents and maybe bring some new excitement and freshness to the series.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons.
Previously, Ruth Negga and Pascale Armand both guest-starred in episodes of the series.
The Bridge was written by Shalisha Francis and directed by Holly Dale.
