Is Nicole Beharie Out of "The Good Wife"? Monica Raymund Steps In As 'Cary's' Possible Love Interest

For those of you who watch the show and have been following my posts regarding Nicole Beharie's character on The Good Wife, it seems like I totally missed a new development in the plot. I first noticed when I didn't see Nicole Beharie listed on the imdb for the upcoming CBS episode.

Monica Raymund (Lie To Me, Blue Bloods), another Juilliard grad, reportedly landed a recurring role at the beginning of September as a new prosecutor in the State’s Attorney office and a possible love interest for Cary (played by Matt Czuchry). Beharie, who has been in the last two episodes in the role of Imani Stonehouse, came in as the new Assistant U.S. Attorney. She was supposedly brought in to form a connection with Cary, an emergency subplot since Kelli Giddish's character departure from the show.

While Beharie's Imani may not be completely out of the picture, is interesting to note that she hasn't been on any promotional material or on the CBS show's website, while Monica Raymund has.

Anyways, I hope Nicole has a grander project on the horizon; that would be a plausible reason for her brief role on the show, IF that's the case. I'm only speculating, since I don't have further information at this point.

Just when I was getting so excited about her presence on the show. Darn it! :)

I imagine it becomes hard to write an actor into future episodes when said actor becomes unavailable all of a sudden. Kudos to the Kings for rolling with the punches at the mercy of actor availability.

Every major American show on TV lacks diversity. So…‘The Good Wife” is just one of them!

Yes Mecca, I'm aware of that. But The Good Wife is considered one of the best and often gets credit for its hiring of black actors. Appears to be nothing more than a facade to me and I'm going to call them on it.

I am familiar w/ Monica Raymund on "Lie To Me" she is a promising actor. I'm not too about how I feel about her being added 2 the cast of GW.

Another Juilliard actor to watch out for is Corey Anthony Hawkins!!! So far, he has been doing a lot of theatre & a few indie projects but he is going places in the near future.

Oh no...I'm shocked...NOT! I like The Good Wife but when it comes to showcasing/investing in black actors and characters, the show is severly lacking.

Bring back Sophia/Giddish at whatever cost . Loved that character .

I agree with Lucy that the Kings said she was supposed to bridge the gap between Cary and Kalinda...but from what we all saw...there wasn't even any interaction between the three characters.

The thing about the Good Wife is they bring in characters, then take them out, then bring them back again. So it could be that she may be back again but they did announce in like August or at least before Nicole's announcement that Monica would be on the show.

I do hope they bring Beharie back...just please...a new wig...this one is horrible! LOL

I don't know if Imani is going to stick around. I read that the Kings wanted her to be a "bridge" between Cary and Kalinda (but I still don't see "how"), so I don't think she was supposed to be a Cary's love interest, but more a workmate...but I also see that Nicole is not scheduled to appear in the next 2 episodes, while Monica Raymund is scheduled to appear for 9 episodes.

Oh no!! Say it isn't so, I love Nicole, please stick around.
